What is a Personal Injury
According to Wikipedia, a personal injury occurs when a person has suffered some form of injury, either physical or psychological, as the result of an accident or medical malpractice.
Personal injury is a huge umbrella term for a limitless amount of circumstances, such as:
- Auto accident injuries
- Slips/falls
- Defective product accidents
- Medical malpractice
- Industrial diseases (such as chronic bronchitis, asthma, obstructive pulmonary disease, mesothelioma, etc.)
- Occupational deafness or stress
- Repetitive strain injuries
- Wrongful death
- Paralysis
- Animal bites
- Nursing home negligence or abuse
- Intentional or criminal injury
- Catastrophic injuries
People who are injured due to the negligent action or inaction of another person or entity are entitled to seek compensation for damages caused by that negligence. Negligence is defined as the failure to act with the same caution that a reasonable person would have exercised under the same circumstances.
