What is a Personal Injury
According to Wikipedia, a personal injury occurs when a person has suffered some form of injury, either physical or psychological, as the result of an accident or medical malpractice. Personal injury is a huge umbrella term for a limitless amount of circumstances, such as: - Auto accident injuries
- Slips/falls
- Defective product accidents
- Medical malpractice
- Industrial diseases (such as chronic bronchitis, asthma, obstructive pulmonary disease, mesothelioma, etc.)
- Occupational deafness or stress
- Repetitive strain injuries
- Wrongful death
- Paralysis
- Animal bites
- Nursing home negligence or abuse
- Intentional or criminal injury
- Catastrophic injuries
People who are injured due to the negligent action or inaction of another person or entity are entitled to seek compensation for damages caused by that negligence. Negligence is defined as the failure to act with the same caution that a reasonable person would have exercised under the same circumstances. If you or a loved one has suffered a personal injury due to negligence, it is important to file a lawsuit as soon as possible. At Findlay Law we can begin researching your personal injury claim immediately and work to recover compensation for pain and suffering, loss of income and medical costs. Of course, the level of compensation will depend on the severity of your own unique situation. Please contact our office today for a free case evaluation.

Why do you need a medical malpractice attorney?
Medical malpractice is widespread in our society today. Medical malpractice occurs when a doctor (or even other staff members of a hospital or medical facility) provides improper care for a patient or exhibits insufficient medical skills. As the recipient or as a family member of someone who has received inadequate medical care, it is easy to see where the breakdown occurs. And it may seem easy to sue the medical provider for large sums of money. However, proving liability without a qualified medical malpractice attorney is very difficult. Why are medical malpractice lawsuits so difficult? - Malpractice lawsuits are complicated and require a great deal of research to prove that a medical provider's negligence caused the injury or worsened a condition.
- Experts in the medical field will be consulted to review records and answer attorney's questions, and the time these experts devote to the case can be costly.
- There may be a deadline in which to file a claim. Waiting too long to sue may cause you to miss filing deadlines and be unable to pursue a medical malpractice case.
- There are a variety of different and acceptable ways to treat injuries and medical conditions.
- Medical records can be tampered with when a lawsuit is pending.
- Witnesses can be hesitant to provide evidence and testify against their coworkers.
- Physicians and medical facilities can afford top notch defense attorneys.
Don't let the complexity of medical malpractice lawsuits scare you. If you have been a victim of medical malpractice, you deserve to be compensated quickly and fairly. Our team of experienced medical malpractice attorneys will work hard to get you restitution. Please contact our office as soon as possible for a free case evaluation.

Catastrophic Injury
No one wants to think about themselves or loved ones getting hurt. Unfortunately, injuries happen and sometimes those are severe catastrophic injuries that require extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation. These types of injuries are even more devastating when they are caused due to the negligence of others or due to a defective or dangerous product. Catastrophic injuries can take many forms, including: - Damage to the central nervous system
- Severe burns
- Brain injuries
- Spinal cord paralysis
- Accidental amputations
- Neurological disorders
- Fractures
- Eyesight loss
- Memory loss
- Death
Catastrophic injuries can happen suddenly or develop over time. Likewise, not all catastrophic injuries are permanent. While these injuries are complex and require the expertise of a team of health professionals, some individuals can actually recover from their injuries if given the proper medical treatment in a timely fashion. Regardless of whether or not the injury is permanent, victims of catastrophic injuries face huge financial obligations and quite possibly a lifetime of care. If you have suffered a catastrophic injury due to the negligent or intentional act of another person or company, please contact our office for a free case evaluation to learn more about your legal rights and get the compensation you deserve.

Dog Bite Injuries
We call them "man's best friend," however dog bites are a common injury sustained by both adults and children (60% of dog bite victims are children). Dog bites can result in permanent disfigurement, psychological trauma and even death. Even loving family pets can attack family members if certain conditions exist. Why do dogs bite?- Fear or surprise: if a dog thinks you might hurt him, he may bite to protect himself
- Excitement: a dog could accidentally bite you while playing - they don't have hands so they use their mouths (and sharp teeth) to grab things
- Pain/Sickness: dogs don't understand pain and may think that you touching him is causing that pain
- Protecting property: dogs are loyal and protect things that belong to them, including toys, food, people, houses, yards, etc.
What should you do to avoid dog bites?- Never touch a dog if no owner is present.
- Ask permission from the dog's owner before touching him. Then let the dog sniff the back of your hand and pet him under the chin.
- Play with dogs gently and quietly.
- Leave sick or sleeping dogs alone.
- Never enter a yard with an unknown dog.
- Avoid touching a dog's food or toys.
- Don't assume a wagging tail means the dog is friendly
Even the most cautious people are sometimes victims of dog bite injuries. In many cases this is due to negligence on the part of the dog owner. If you have suffered injuries from a dog bite, please contact our office for a free case evaluation to learn more about your legal rights.
