Cell Phone Use and Car Accidents
Millions of Canadians rely on cell phones to communicate. This reliance on cell phone use has dramatically increased the number of people who use them while driving. Drivers using cell phones to talk and text while driving represent a hazard to us all and also to themselves. News accounts remind us almost on a daily basis of the dangers of driving and cell phone use.
Studies indicate that almost 80% of all drivers use their cell phones to talk or text at some point while driving. Amazingly, drivers using cell phones exhibit the same behaviors as drunk drivers. The cell phone users reaction time is slower, they are less quick to apply brakes and slower to regain speed after braking. They also weave instead of staying in the middle of their lane. Cell phone using drivers are more prone to be involved in rear end collisions and do not use their turn signals either.
Cell phone use while driving causes at least 12,000 injuries and over 2600 deaths annually. There are more cell phone using drivers on the road than drunk drivers at any given time.
If you live Hamilton or Toronto, Ontario, Canada or the surrounding area and you or someone you care about was injured or killed in an accident involving a cell phone using drivers, please contact the Findlay Law Offices in Hamilton, Ontario today to schedule a confidential consultation at no cost to you to protect your rights and interests.

Defective Vehicles and Car Accidents
If you have suffered an injury caused by a defective car, you may have a product liability claim along with an automobile accident claim. Defective vehicle accidents result in over 42,000 fatalities annually.
Automobile defects that have prompted lawsuits in recent years include, but are not limited to, sports utility vehicle rollovers, tire failures, seat belt failures, accelerator controls that stick, fuel system defects and wiring problems that result in fires. Defectively manufactured vehicles or vehicle parts may be a result of an error at the manufacturing facility. Vehicles with a dangerous design can also result in accidents and injuries.
Those liable for damages can include the manufacturer of the vehicle, the manufacturer of the parts, such as tires or seat belts, the car dealership, or the distributor of the parts.
The legal issues are complex as far as liability is concerned when an injury is caused by a defective vehicle or part. An experienced defective vehicle attorney will ensure you receive proper representation and fair compensation from the parties who are responsible for your injury.
If you reside in Hamilton or Toronto, Ontario, Canada or the surrounding area and you or someone you care about has been injured or killed due to a car accident caused by a defective vehicle or vehicle part, please contact an experienced defective vehicle lawyer today at the Findlay Law Offices in Hamilton, Ontario to schedule a confidential consultation at no cost to you to protect your rights and interests.

Seat Belt Use and Car Accidents
Wearing a seat belt dramatically increases your chances of surviving an automobile accident. Since the mandatory use of seat belts went into effect, the number of people injured or killed in Ontario has dropped steadily.
A properly adjusted seat belt increases your survival chances in a car accident. Air bags do not take the place of seat belts as air bags do not prevent the occupants of a car from being ejected from a vehicle in the event of a collision. Unbelted occupants of a motor vehicle can, in essence, become projectiles in a collision, seriously injuring themselves and others. In almost 60% of all car accident fatalities, the victim was not wearing a seat belt.
Over 92% of Ontarians wear their seat belts regularly. However, the 8% who do not wear their seat belts, represent over 600,000 people. For every 1% of people who use their seat belts, five lives are saved.
Canadian car accident laws are complex and automobile insurance claims are routinely denied or delayed. Therefore, you need an experienced Canadian car accident injury lawyer on your side to make certain you get the compensation you deserve.
If you live in Hamilton or Toronto, Ontario, Canada or the surrounding area and you or someone you know was injured in an automobile accident, please contact an experienced automobile accident attorney at the Findlay Law Offices in Hamilton, Ontario today to schedule a confidential consultation at no cost to you to learn how you can protect your rights and interests.

Catastrophic Injury Law
A catastrophic injury refers to an injury that requires significant medical intervention in the form of care and treatment and which has a long-term or permanent effect on a person's life. A catastrophic injury can happen anywhere at any time, and within seconds your life will be changed forever.
Catastrophic injuries usually cause permanent disability, great pain and suffering, and an altered life and lifespan. A catastrophic injury normally necessitates a lifetime of ongoing medical care and treatment. Some catastrophic injuries include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, loss of limbs, and severe burns.
If a catastrophic injury was the result of negligence or the actions of another, or was the result of the use of a defective product, the victim may be eligible for compensation from those responsible for the injury.
An attorney who is experienced in the complex issues of catastrophic injury law, will ensure the victim receives fair compensation and sufficient funds for a lifetime of care and treatment and support.
If you reside in Hamilton or Toronto, Ontario, Canada or the surrounding area, and you or someone you love has suffered a catastrophic injury, please contact an experienced catastrophic injury lawyer at the Findlay Law Offices in Hamilton, Ontario today to schedule a confidential consultation at no cost to you to protect your rights and interests.
